WHAT'S IN BEAUTY
I stared with a glance
At the mirror in the wall
There wasn't any chance
Of any fault at all.
Then I had a second sight
At my beautiful face
A fault did come to light
But that's there in any case.
Then I had a look again
At my eyes a little twisted
But only a fault just in my eyes
And hence I calmed and rested.
Again a doubtful look into the mirror
To assure I was fine
Made me recognize with horror
That ugly face as Mine.
But then I calmed myself
When it dawned on me,
That beauty is in your Inner Self
And not in just what you see.
