   TO BIND AND FREE

I walked to the stage to get my award,
I rode the cheers that showered my reward,
I was ablaze with joy, I felt out of size,
I was full of vanity, I was proud of my prize.

But then came this authoritative voice of dissent,
With anger and fire and blinding resent,
Vomiting hatred with that burning face,
Increasing the frequency of my heart's pace

I felt burnt with that wrath and scorn,
I felt depressed, my pride was shorn,
My prize fell down, it got all shattered,
I felt mad, I was tattered and battered

Then a voice within, soothing and calm,
Cooled me down with its breezy balm,
It whispered words that rid of my pain,
It answered an answer I tried answering in vain

Wherefore did it burn to set you ablaze,
Wherefore did it bleed to rid you of your glaze,
Look at your master who even sees not the fruit,
While you taste a bitter fruit and hoot and toot

You got blinded : The blind then lost his way,
Away with it; go towards the start of the ray,
YOU, that Bird on that Universal Tree,
Follow your Master and Become free.
